Getting There

The Space Eye is located on the “Uecht” hill in the municipality of Niedermuhlern near Bern. To get there, first travel to Niedermuhlern by PostBus, car, bike, or any other mode of transportation of your choice.

From there, you can reach the Space Eye either on foot via the scenic Space Eye Adventure Trail or by taking our Space Shuttle.

If you’re traveling by car, you can park at the paid Space Eye parking lot in Niedermuhlern. The parking spaces at Space Eye are reserved exclusively for visitors with a parking permit for people with mobility impairments.

From the parking lot in Niedermuhlern, you can reach the Space Eye either on foot via the scenic Space Eye Adventure Trail or by taking our Space Shuttle.

Getting there by public transportation is easy and straightforward. From Bern , you can reach the “Niedermuhlern, Baumgärtli” stop in about 30 minutes —either via Köniz on line 631 or via Kehrsatz on line 340 .

From Baumgärtli in Niedermuhlern, you can reach the Space Eye either on foot via the scenic Space Eye Adventure Trail or by taking our Space Shuttle.

Public Services
From the time the doors open until the program begins, the shuttle runs every half hour from the Space Eye parking lot or the Baumgärtli stop in Niedermuhlern to Space Eye. At the end of operating hours, the shuttle returns to Niedermuhlern.

The shuttle is free for visitors attending public events. There is a fee for parking in Niedermuhlern.

Group Visits
For group visits, the Space Shuttle can be booked in advance.

From Niedermuhlern, you can walk to the Space Eye along the adventure trail. Allow about 45 minutes for the walk (or 25 minutes if you take the direct route). Along the adventure trail, you’ll discover virtual interactive stations that you can access using an app on your cell phone.

If you’re traveling by bike, you can ride the Herzroute 99 – Stage 3. This will take you directly to the Space Eye.

From Laupen, the route takes you through the Bernese hinterland up to the Längenberg. Here, you’ll enjoy a phenomenal view of the Alps and, shortly thereafter, of Lake Thun. Via Riggisberg, the route leads to the moraine lake region around Amsoldingen and finally to Thun.
